Black Rhino Custodianship Project

As the population of Black Rhinos in Africa dwindled by 98% in the past 100 years we have been dedicated to their protection since 1997 as part of the national Black Rhino Custodian Programme.

On Kuzikus you will have the exceptional opportunity to not only experience these iconic species in their natural habitat but also to gain first-hand information about one of

Africa’s greatest success stories in recent conservation history!

Ecosystem Restoration

We cannot have the expectation that reserves by themselves will do much more than to collect crumbs. They are the 5%. We need to work on the 95%. To counteract the current biodiversity crisis, biodiversity needs to be brought back into agricultural landscapes and we need to meet dual goals of biodiversity conservation and production in a self-sustaining profitable framework. We are working towards integrating neighbouring farmers into our vision of a fence-free Kalahari.

Wildlife Management

Landscape fragmentation is a big challenge for species Conservation even in an extremely sparsely populated country like Namibia. To ensure the ecological balance between vegetation and wildlife in eco-system where top predators have gotten rare due to surrounding agriculture, we closey work with specialists on the translocation of wildlife species between Wildlife Reserves.
